RTC clockport devices instead use the RTC CS signal to access the device. If RTC clockport support is not needed, program with U401.jed firmware (default). If RTC clockport support is needed, program with U401_rtc.jed firmware. Xilinx Platform Cable USB device and Xilinx ISE Impact 14.6 software are required to program the chips. 2. Connect the Xilinx Platform Cable USB to the CN400 connector on the Firebird daughterboard. 3. Connect the power cable from the power supply to the CN500 connector on the daughterboard. 4. Turn on the power supply. 5. Start Xilinx ISE Impact and select "Create a new project". 6. Select "Configure devices using Boundary-Scan (JTAG)". Leave combox setting to "Automatically connect to a cable and identify Boundary-Scan chain". 7. Click Finish after which Impact scans identifies the chips connectd to the JTAG chain. 8. Select "Firmware\U400.jed" for the first XC95144XL chip in the chain. Select "Firmware\U401.jed" or "Firmware\U401_rtc.jed" for the second XC95144XL chip in the chain. 9. Program the chips by clicking "Select All" and then click "Program". 10. Programming complete. Prometheus Software Quick Installation Guide -------------------------------------------- 1. Install MMU Library (MMU.library, 680x0.library, 68030/68040/68060.library). http://aminet.net/util/libs/MMULib.lha 2. Install Picasso96 software. Select Prometheus as the graphics card. 3. "Drivers\prometheus_firestorm.lha" contains drivers for the Prometheus Firestorm firmware. Extract the Prometheus drivers archive to some directory. Copy the extracted files to your system drive. e.g. "copy Devs/#? Devs: clone all" Note: The Picasso96 files in the driver archives are for Picasso96 2.1c. If you have another version of Picasso96, you may need different files. 4. Restart computer. If you have a Voodoo 3 graphics card installed, open Prefs/Picasso96Mode. If drivers are installed correctly, Prometheus is listed in the "Attach settings to" menu. Clockport MMU Configuration --------------------------- Caching has to be disabled for the clockport address range. Add the following two lines to your MMU-Configuration file: SetCacheMode from 0x00ef0000 size 0x00010000 Valid CacheInhibit Writethrough SetCacheMode from 0x00ef0000 size 0x00010000 Valid CacheInhibit If you have set the clockport jumpers to a different address than 0xEF0000, modify the lines accordingly. PCB Explorer ------------ PCB Explorer should be viewed with an old browser such as Firefox Portable 55. PCB Explorer can't be viewed with a modern browser due to their restrictions opening offline files.
